Syntonics’ business model is to use SBIR/STTR projects and university partnerships to create new products and develop technologies, which we then commercialize. The company two first product lines, FORAX RF-over-Fiber communications systems and Handheld Tactical Antennas were both conceived, developed and commercialized by the team of Bruce Montgomery, President; Doug Crowe, Chief Engineer; Gary Bruce, Senior Director Operations; and Ed O’Malley, Vice President Finance and Administration. This is the team recognized by today’s Tibbetts Award.
Since introducing FORAX in 2005 and tactical antennas in 2007, Syntonics’ sales have averaged a compound annual growth rate of 26% and 2013 sales are forecast to increase this average.
Syntonics provides advanced RF-over-Fiber systems and innovative RF technologies for military, civil, and industrial markets. FORAX™ (“Fiber Optic Remote Antenna eXtension”) RF-over-Fiber radio communications systems are deployed around the world in 24x7 mission critical operations. FORAX-HARC (High Antennas for Radio Communications) RF-over-Fiber radio relay systems are deployed today in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Our Handheld Tactical Satellite Antennas provide lightweight, rugged, high-gain performance in the field and our body-worn SINCGARS antennas have improved soldier safety.
