The HARC-TD-50 model is a lightweight, expeditionary system that extends voice and data networks out to 38 km (20 miles) over elevated terrain and down into valleys and urban canyons, by flying the radio’s antenna at 50 meters above ground level. HARC-TD-50 operates with any Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio.
Lockheed Martin’s proven Indago drone, modified for tethered flight, is the platform for the HARC radio range extension payload. Electrically powered via its tether, the drone can fly for hours using power supplied on the ground. The complete system can be backpacked or transported in its supplied transit case. Ground power can be universal AC, including generator power, or 12/24 Vdc from a vehicle’s power system.
Orders for the HARC-TD-50 system are being taken starting at the 2017 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (2017 SOFIC) in Tampa, Florida. Quotations can be obtained by contacting Syntonics or one of our resellers. Orders committed by June and formally placed by July 30, 2017 are expected to deliver this year.
